Shrouded in mystery at first, COLLUSION was our first attempt at showcasing our unique partnership with some of Asia’s best photographers at the forefront. We challenged them to shoot their perspectives of what COLLUSION meant to them as a visual theme and submit their best entries, where the top three winners were announced ‘live’ at the event.

More on that later.

Held at and sponsored by Funan Showsuite, it was an immersive journey that started with a showcase of our Ambassadors and some of their best work. Hailing from countries across Southeast Asia, they were on hand to describe the inspiration behind their photographs.

Excited to see the submissions? We definitely were. In fact, we developed a special microsite just so photographers could submit their entries and encourage their community to vote. We wanted the selection of winners to be as organic as possible, and to come from people in and out of PIXERF who shared a love for all things photography. Voting was also extended to attendees during the event through a ballot system.

The event then took on one of its key objectives – to start a dialogue between photographers and industry players with a fireside chat that spoke about the various challenges visual artists and creatives have with the visual space and creative industry, and what the future holds for both parties.

Fireside chat with PIXERF Ambassadors Geoff Ang, Lee Yik Keat, Amrita Chandradas, William Chua, Edelman’s Executive Creative Director, Aaron Phua and moderated by PIXERF Co-founder Michele Lee.
