Christmas is a time for food and fun, but in Asia we celebrate things a little differently. Very often, visual content marketers find it difficult to pick Christmas-themed images that are Asian-centric.

We highlight five photography subjects you should look out for this season so yule have more to add to your portfolio.

5 Subjects to Look Out For During The Festive Season

#1 Red and Green Food & Drink

We often don’t realise how food and drinks can make great festive framing. Red and green combos make great festive backgrounds for designers, so snap up the opportunity.

#2 Asian Families at Christmas

Scenes of Asian families getting together for the season are great as they don’t show clichés like snowy weather and warm clothing. These make good images for ad campaigns in Asia (or to fill up blank photo frames on desks).

#3 Decor That Doesn’t Mimic Snow

You would think this is easy, but too often, the decor we see along the streets and in malls mimic snow in some way. Move away from these clichés by showing less blues and whites and zooming in to alternative decorations for a change.

#4 Christmas Table Settings

These would make great poster backgrounds, so take a variety of them with some negative space to allow other elements to be added in later.

#5 Festive Asian Home Decor

Much like the scenes of Asian families celebrating Christmas, decorations in Asian homes set the mood for the festive season, with no hint of cold weather. Oh, and throw in some bokeh too!
